Under the supervision of the Team Lead for Cataloging, you will catalog materials from the Frederic Louis Ritter Collection, a special collection bestowed upon Tufts College in 1901 by trustee Albert Metcalf to support the development of the Department of Music. Part of this collection has been cataloged, and you will continue work previously done.
You will gain valuable experience in searching and identifying appropriate bibliographic information in OCLC, exporting records into the Ex Libris Alma catalog, and hands on experience with basic cataloging principles using Tufts cataloging policies and procedures. You will also learn some of the basic principles of rare book cataloging and putting them into practice with the assistance of the Cataloging and Metadata Services Librarian.

Understanding of the principles of information organization and metadata creation.

A background in music and prior library experience is a plus.
This is a part-time (10-15 hours per week), 3-month internship. Start and end dates flexible
