Call for Applications: Scotland SOIS: In the Scottish Archive
Posted January 17, 2020
This focused learning course centers on theory and practices of archivists and related professionals in the United Kingdom, and provides to the student an opportunity to develop international competencies and confidence to meet the global professional world. We will consider comparisons and contrasts between the UK and US archival professions, and explore international projects and connections. Learning will occur through pre-travel readings, lectures and class discussion, in-country observation and travel, and other forms of on-site learning. The student is expected to bring to the course basic knowledge of archival/library fields in the United States, so as to be able to think comparatively. The travel portion of the course is based at Dalkeith Palace near Edinburgh, Scotland.
Open to students from all institutions but preference is given to UWM MLIS Archives Program students.
