Resource Sharing Supervisor, Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH

Under the general direction of the Head of Access and Delivery Services, the Resource Sharing Supervisor provides leadership, planning and oversight of the Resource Sharing department.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plans and provides strategic direction for Resource Sharing Services across the Dartmouth Libraries. Sets lending, borrowing and shipping policies; establishes best practices and continually refines workflows and procedures through consultation with staff across the library system. (30%)

  • Collaborates with external resource sharing partners on joint initiatives to improve resource sharing; and explore and recommend new reciprocal partnerships, as appropriate. Liaise with other stakeholders to support scholarship and access to collections both at Dartmouth and worldwide. (30%) 
  • Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, and mentors staff in the Resource Sharing Department. Monitors daily workflow to ensure timely fulfillment of patron requests. (30%)

  • Create, maintain, and analyze Resource Sharing data and prepare reports. Oversees copyright compliance for resource sharing materials. (10%)
  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent supervisory, organizational and communication skills.
  • At least three years of increasingly responsible library experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of local, regional, national, and international resource sharing practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant copyright law requirements and restrictions
  • Experience with an integrated library system or equivalent

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS
