General Statement of Duties
Reporting to the electronic resources librarian, the library assistant II – acquisitions assistant performs a broad range of tasks associated with procurement of library materials. This individual will process all transactions pertaining to the acquisition of library materials including, but not limited to, ordering of books and digital resources using online vendor systems, processing of payments, creation of order records in NOBLE, tracking and auditing of financial information, and inventory and disposition of all material donations. Provides support for collection development and management activities. Runs statistical reports, tracks spending, and manages order and vendor records. Performs related duties as required.
Hours: 8:30am-5pm, M-F
Break: 12-1pm
Salary: $742.54 weekly

Minimum Entrance Requirements

Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time paraprofessional or clerical experience as a library assistant, or (B) any combination of the required experience and the following substitution: An associate degree or higher may be substituted for the required experience. **Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

At least 2 years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience working in a library

Proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets and other Microsoft Office or Google Apps programs

Experience with preparing reports, statistics, and other documents

Experience with Evergreen or other library management software

Experience with GOBI software for ordering library materials

Experience working in a library technical services or access services department
