The Smithsonian Libraries, the largest museum library system in the world, offers internship opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students interested in exploring a career in library and information science. We are currently accepting applications for four different internship programs for Spring and Summer of 2020.

Spring 2020 General Internships : Open to both undergraduates and grad students, these are flexible part-time opportunities in Art, Social Media and Advancement. Applications close December 2nd, 2019.

Spring 2020 Education – American Women’s History Initiative Internship: Open to graduate students, this is a paid, part-time opportunity to help develop educational materials around American Women’s History. Applications close December 13th, 2019.

Summer 2020 Kathryn Turner Diversity and Technology Internship: This program is specifically designed for undergraduate computer or information science students enrolled at a Historically Black College or University. This is a paid, full time opportunity for Summer of 2020. Applications close January 17th, 2020.

Summer 2020 50th Anniversary Internships : There are two positions available in this program for MLIS students interested in working with ephemera collections. Applications for these paid, full time positions close January 17th, 2020.
