Job Summary: Under the direction of and in collaboration with the Archives staff, the Student Worker II position will support digital initiative endeavors by engaging in metadata cleanup for our photograph, newspaper, and alumnae magazine databases. The position assists with standardizing existing metadata, editing photograph and article descriptions, and ensuring the quality and discoverability of our database entries.
Key Work Activities:

Standardize existing metadata in photograph, newspaper, and alumnae magazine databases according to guidelines outlined by archives staff

Edit and proofread existing descriptions to ensure that the descriptions are clear, concise, useful, and provide discoverability

Enter LCSH subject headings to replace local subject headings under the supervision of archives staff

Ensure that database entries align with the correct photograph or article it is meant to represent
Requirements:

Must be currently enrolled in the Simmons SLIS program and completed LIS415

Must have good attention to detail, preferably with experience in completing complex data-entry projects
