McQuade Library seeks a visionary, flexible professional to bring our college archive to the next level, grow our digital repository, and support scholarly communication. The Archivist will provide expertise and leadership in establishing a complete archives program for both physical and digital items, our historical documents, photos, and artifacts, as well as our ongoing scholarship and creativity.
Qualifications:

Demonstrated successful experience in archives and digital repositories in an academic setting.

Knowledge of best practices in archive management, conservation, and digitization.

A record of successful interaction with faculty, students, staff, and administrators in an institution of higher education.

Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong customer service orientation.

Strong interpersonal skills in outreach, relationship building, and collaboration.

Master’s degree in Library or Library and Information Science or Archives Management from an American Library Association accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Digital humanities experience.

Experience with training, supervising, and evaluating student workers.

Curatorial or other fine art experience.
Duties Include:
-
Manages, administers, and provides access to historical materials and artifacts pertaining to the foundation and ongoing work of the college.

Organizes, describes, catalogs, maintains, and oversees digitization of selected archival materials.

Manages and promotes Merrimack ScholarWorks institutional repository. Provides outreach and consultations on depositing content, publishing options, and author rights.

Plans digitization projects, prepares exhibits, acquires archival collections, develops grant proposals as appropriate.

Works with campus colleagues and college donors to capture and provide access to the college’s intellectual and artistic assets. Maintains fine art inventory.

Creates Course Research Guides, Subject Guides, and other digital and print materials in assigned areas.

Provides specialized research consultations to McQuade Library users and visiting scholars.

Member of Faculty Senate; Serves on faculty senate and other campus committees; Stays current with the field through on-going professional development.
This is a full-time, twelve month position, and may include evening and/or weekend hours.
