Gift and Membership Revenue Processor, Boston Athenaeum, Boston, MA

The Boston Athenæum seeks a full-time Gift and Membership Revenue Processor to join the Finance team. This role is primarily responsible for the daily transactional processing of membership and contribution activity, with a focus on member renewals, retention, recruitment, tracking, and reporting. This position handles data management, production of acknowledgment letters, generation of mailing lists and reports, and works directly with members, prospective members, and donors. In addition to reporting directly to the Augusta Thomas Director of Finance and Business Operations, The Gift and Membership Revenue Processor will work closely with the Member and Visitor Services team and the Development team to efficiently process transactions and to assist with member and donor recruitment and retention.
Responsibilities

Help complete the membership renewal process by handling mailings, renewal acknowledgment letters, and any returned mail.

Process online Sign-Up Requests, Profile Updates, and Membership transactions in Blackbaud Netcommunity.

Complete and mail New Member Packets for new members signing up online.

Coordinate data hygiene processes.

Coordinate and execute mailed renewal reminders and emailed renewal reminders (24x per year).

Answer phone calls on the Membership line and fulfill requests for new and existing members.

Cross-train on the front desk membership processes for occasional coverage.

Enter gifts into Raiser’s Edge and process checks and acknowledgments.

Assist with gift acknowledgments and tax receipts.

Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Submit to and pass a background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment verifications, and Registry of Motor Vehicles (if applicable).

High School degree required; college background or degree is preferred.

Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge software experience strongly preferred.

Must be able to handle confidential financial and personal data with discretion.

Must be able to perform data entry with consistent accuracy and attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word strongly preferred.

A motivated and responsible self-starter.

Highly collaborative with staff and respectful to library members and visitors.

Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, presenting, analytical, and organization skills.
