Part-Time Temporary Teen Librarian, Gleason Public Library, Carlisle, MA

This is a part-time, non-benefits-eligible, temporary position to cover a 3-month staff leave expected to begin mid-January 2020. Primary responsibilities:

Lead programs for youth in grades 5 through 12 and assist with children’s programs

Assist in collection development and cataloging for teen collection

Provide general reference assistance and reader’s advisory to children, teens, and adults

Assist patrons of all ages with library computers, personal technology, and digital library collections

Have fun and create a welcoming environment for teens and all library users
Desired hours are 3 days per week including 1 evening, plus 1 Saturday per month (approx. 23 hrs/week average). Other duties include circulation, reference, interlibrary loan, opening and closing procedures. For full job description, visit http://gleasonlibrary.org/employment
Carlisle is a small residential town about 20 miles northwest of Boston. With a population around 5,000, Carlisle has a rural feel and strong community spirit. Gleason Public Library is well-supported and a center of activity in our town.
Qualifications:
Masters of Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution and 1 year of public library experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job.

Salary: $27.81/hr
