BB&N is seeking a part-time School Archivist. Primary responsibilities are to assess, process, and manage the school’s archival records. The School Archivist will develop, implement, and manage procedures for the arrangement, description, preservation, digitization, and accessibility of the archives, bringing the archive in line with current best practices. The School Archivist will work closely with school Librarians to build connections with faculty, staff, and alumni/ae in order to provide reference and instruction and grow the collection. This is a 20-hours per week, 12-month position with flexible hours.

BB&N, a coeducational day school in Cambridge, MA, was established in 1974 by the merger of two independent schools, the Buckingham School and Browne & Nichols School, founded respectively in 1889 and 1883. Skills and Competencies:
The successful candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s degree. An MS degree in Library & Information Science with a concentration in Archives Management is preferred. However, individuals with relevant processing experience who are currently enrolled in a program may also be considered. The successful candidate will have strong multi-tasking and self-starter skills. The candidate should be comfortable working independently and willing to establish connections with a range of school constituents. The School Archivist will demonstrate solid competencies, including:
