SLIS Jobline Your Source for Professional, Pre-Professional, and Internship Positions

Data Science Interns, Wildlife Insights, Arlington, VA

Wildlife Insights, is currently seeking data science students to help with a data transformation project.

Founded by Conservation International, Zoological Society of London, and the Smithsonian Institution, among others, Wildlife Insights is a platform for housing and analyzing motion-activated camera trap photos. The volume of data produced by these camera traps is massive, and our platform aims to help researchers manage and share their data.

We are seeking students who can write R scripts to prepare legacy data for our batch uploader, as researchers use very different organization methods across the globe. We are also interested in having them create tutorials and documentation that explain how to use their work.

Students may work remotely, and the internship (unpaid) will be officially run through Conservation International. Knowledge of R and GitHub is required, and a passion for conservation is preferred.
