Highline College (located in Des Moines, Washington) is recruiting for a full-time, 9‑month tenure‑track Reference Librarian position (link) starting fall quarter, September 17, 2019. The reference librarian will provide research assistance and individualized instruction to students, faculty, staff, and the public. The reference librarian will collaborate with discipline faculty to teach information literacy to students in variety of classes across the curriculum including BAS (Bachelor of Applied Science) classes. As a member of the reference department, the librarian will share responsibility for collection development. The reference librarian will provide support to improve equity and student achievement, specifically to cohorts of underserved students. The reference department is instrumental in leading open educational resources (OER) use and expansion. The reference librarian is service oriented, requiring excellent social, communication, and collaboration skills.
