Collection Development Librarian, Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, PA

Elizabethtown College seeks applications for an enthusiastic, innovative, team-centered Collection Development Librarian. Reporting to the Director of the High Library, this librarian oversees all aspects of collection development, acquisitions, and cataloging. Responsibilities include: collaborating with faculty and librarians to identify materials and collections that support the academic curriculum; coordinating the acquisition and cataloging of items, including the creation of original catalog records; assessing the collections’ usage to project budgetary needs and to develop purchasing strategies; arranging for database trials and negotiating license agreements; and providing reference services to the College community. The Collection Development Librarian supervises two library technicians.

The successful candidate will have an outstanding customer-service orientation, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for working with students and faculty in a small-college setting. A Master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution and at least two years of relevant work experience are required. Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
