Staff Librarian, West Liberty University, Wheeling, WV

West Liberty University seeks to fill a full-time, 12-month non-classified Staff Librarian position.

Responsibilities will include:

• maintaining and enhancing the library website with help from the university webmaster;
• conducting bibliographic and reference orientation to online library systems for on-campus, online and the Highlands courses;
• aiding in the selection, maintenance, and usage of vendor databases;
• analyzing and selecting materials for acquisition;
• conducting regular reviews of the physical collection to assure applicability and currency; providing reference and research assistance to faculty, staff, and students;
• managing special collections; and
• otherwise assisting and supporting the Library Director.

The successful candidate will possess a Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited program. The successful candidate will have:

• knowledge of library science principles, practices, techniques, and technological trends;
• good written and oral communication skills;
• working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and communications software;
• ability to work well with others in an upbeat and positive manner;
• experience maintaining webpages or blogs; and
• the ability to work independently.

At least one year of relevant experience is preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
