Salary:

$26.61 per hour.

Duties/Description:

The Clapp Memorial Library seeks a knowledgeable, team-oriented Temporary Technical Services Librarian who is experienced in all areas of cataloging and the provision of technical services in a public library setting.

Catalogs and processes all new library materials and updates item records in online catalog. Maintains Library website. Installs, maintains and troubleshoots databases and other electronic resources, all computer hardware and software and related equipment. Manages ordering and inventory of computers and other supplies. Organizes and leads training workshops for staff and patrons on a variety of technologies, both current and emerging, and produces explanatory documentation. Runs activity reports; collects and organizes usage statistics. Position includes some public service desk time as needed and one evening per week. Other duties as assigned.

Applicants should be comfortable working with patrons of varied backgrounds, ages, and abilities. Must be flexible and able to juggle multiple tasks. This position fills a temporary vacancy of undetermined length due to medical leave.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; MLS preferred
• Previous C/WMARS and Evergreen cataloging and circulation services experience
• Experience maintaining automated library systems and related applications
• Knowledge of network protocols
• Ability to implement and instruct others in the use of new and emerging technologies  
• Working knowledge of WordPress, Microsoft Windows and Office
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Position requires frequent walking, stooping, and kneeling.
