An opportunity has arisen within the Franklin Pierce University Frank S. DiPietro Library for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a part-time Reference Librarian. The Reference Librarian is a part-time, exempt faculty position that works for 10 months during the academic year, when students are in residence. The hours of work involve evenings and weekends, from Sunday through Monday.
In this position, the Reference Librarian provides reference services to faculty, staff and students offering a wide range of technical and intellectual assistance. The positions also provides instruction services on the use of reference materials to the University community, either one-to-one or group settings.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program, with at least one to three years library experience, preferably with academic experience. Excellence in customer service is desired with good interpersonal, and strong organizational, oral and written communication skills. Applicants must have a good computer skills and possess a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook. Knowledge of library organization and systems experience desired.
