The Daytime Circulation Supervisor is responsible for the operation of the circulation desk including staffing the desk, hiring and supervising student workers, responding to requests or problems of library patrons and in addition supports interlibrary loan operations.
- Supervise Circulation desk including opening the library M-F
- Interpret library policies for patrons
- Hire, train and schedule student assistants
- Assign tasks to student assistants and supervise their work
- Process interlibrary loan requests – Borrowing for MCPHS students
- Backup interlibrary loan Lending as needed
- Participate in the library reserves processing team
- Run overdue notice reports and other related circulation reports as assigned
- Represent MCPHS on the FLO Circ/Doc Committee
- Attend to printers and photocopy machines as needed
- Compile statistics as needed for Annual report or Accreditation reports
- Assist in research
- Assist in basic instruction
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Customer service experience
Desired:
- Library experience or LIS candidate strongly preferred
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Experience with library circulation systems
- Experience with interlibrary loan
- Familiarity with Voyager software
