Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Summer 2017 Program

The NSF REU Program in Medical Informatics (MedIX) at DePaul University and University of Chicago enters its thirteen year. We are looking for bright undergraduate students to get involved in research in the area of Medical Informatics for the summer of 2017. Participants will receive a stipend of $5,000, travel support to/from the REU site, and subsistence allowance.
Program Features
- 10 weeks of full-time research (June 12 – August 18, 2017)
- Research in teams of two students under close supervision by DePaul and University of Chicago faculty
- Variety of research topics in medical informatics
- $5000 summer stipend + travel support to/from the REU site at the beginning/end of the program + subsistence allowance
Program Requirements
- US citizens/Permanent residents are eligible for the NSF REU program
- Students must have completed the 1st year of undergraduate coursework and not have completed a bachelor’s degree earlier than 09/01/2017
- Students must not be working or taking classes during the summer program
- Fields of interests include: Computer Science, Computer & Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Biology, Neuroscience, and related fields

March 30, 2017: Notification of decision
April 6, 2017: Confirmation of participation
June 12, 2017: MedIX Program Orientation
August 18, 2017: MedIX Program last day
