Director, Kingston Community Library, Kingston, NH

The Board of Trustees of Kingston Community Library seeks a creative and energetic Library Director to manage and coordinate the daily operations of the Kingston Community Library by planning and organizing program offerings and general library services for the community. The Director should be a leader with a clear vision of the role of a community library in the twenty-first century. We are looking for someone who sees that the future direction of our library is to provide exceptional service in all mediums. 
S/he will be responsible for day-to-day library operations within compliance of state and local regulations, and will work with the Trustees in developing and implementing policies and procedures, strategic planning, and budget management. 
Areas of responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: 
MANAGEMENT/OPERATIONS: Competency in: developing and managing budgets and identifying alternative funding sources; possessing solid knowledge of personnel, policy, and facilities management issues; demonstrating the ability to develop and implement strategic plans; exhibiting the capability to review, evaluate, and streamline procedures and workflow. 
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Foster strong relationships with library patrons and other community members; cooperate and integrate program offerings with community groups, town government, and area schools; actively promote the vision and the needs of the library to the variety of community stakeholders. 
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Build and maintain positive working relationships with diverse groups of individuals, organizations, and staff that foster a culture of inclusion. 
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Motivate, inspire, direct, and support the staff; seek out and provide professional development opportunities for the director and the staff; embrace current and emerging technologies; promote and provide a variety of program offerings. Preferred Qualifications should include a Masters degree in Library Science from an institution accredited by the ALA ; a minimum of three (3) years experience as a Director; and demonstrated exceptional communications skills or any combination of education, skills, training, and experience that would provide an equivalent background. Three references will be needed upon successful final candidates status. 
This is a full-time, salaried position, with a $60,000 to $70,000 salary range, commensurate with experience, plus an excellent benefit package.
