These programs include: the Teaching Policy Fellows Program, C2: the Core Collaborative, and T3: Turnaround Teacher Teams. Our programs focus on demonstrably effective teachers in the second stage of their careers (in most cases, years 3 through 10) who want to continue classroom teaching, while also expanding their impact as leaders in their schools and in state and district policy.

- New programming to increase high-need students’ access to strong teachers;

Position Description
Teach Plus is seeking a Database Management Intern to support the Senior Operations Coordinator with day-to-day database operations. The intern will be responsible for helping to maintain our Salesforce database, assisting with documenting processes and training staff members on Salesforce uses, running reports, and support long-term projects that involve multiple Teach Plus teams as well as third-party consultants.
Responsibilities and deliverables
- Salesforce database maintenance and entry
- Preparing datasets in Excel for upload (including formatting, cross-checking, etc.)
- Supporting the program Recruitment + Selection process (including helping to build and test online forms and communicating with site-based teams)
- Supporting Evaluation + Reporting at the national and site levels (including running reports, assessing data quality, and helping sites with interpreting data)
- Assisting with creating and distributing Salesforce training documentation for staff and documenting system/process changes.
- Assisting staff with using Salesforce more efficiently and effectively (researching accepted best practices, new functionality, logging and responding to use case scenarios)
- Support long-term projects (taking meeting minutes, following up on action items, scheduling)
- Research and present on an internship-long project to be developed with the Senior Operations Coordinator at the beginning of the internship (taking organizational priorities and the Database Management Intern’s interest areas into account).
Qualifications
- MS Excel proficient
- Experience with data entry preferred (Salesforce or other database)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Flexibility with changing situations and priorities
- Proven organizational and time-management skills and ability to juggle competing requests
- Previous experience in nonprofit development a plus
Project Term and Hours
This is a part-time internship. Time commitment is relatively flexible, but a commitment of 8 hours per week is required (can be one full day or two half days). The internship will start in October/November 2016 and continue through May/June 2017 with the possibility of an extension depending on performance and organizational need. This internship is located at our national office in Boston, MA.
Compensation
Compensation is competitive, commensurate with experience (range is $12-$14 per hour). Interns are not eligible for benefits.
