The Wayland Free Public Library is seeking a dynamic, friendly, well-organized, and tech savvy professional who has a passion for youth services to work in our Childrens Room. Under the direction of the Head of Youth Services, plans and supervises programs for youth from babies through teenage. Promotes library use through book talks, story times, booklists, school visits, and other outreach activities. Provides reader advisory and guidance to children and adults requesting information in the Childrens Room. Assists Head of Youth Services with collection development in all formats. Supervises department when Head is absent. Responsible for keeping current with developing technology as it relates to youth services. Promotes the department by helping to support a web and social media presence. Performs a variety of circulation duties, including patron registration, checking in and checking out materials, collecting overdue fines, and placing reserves.
Qualifications
Master Degree in Library Science or Master Degree in Childrens Literature, or within 6 months of earning degree. Must enjoy working with children of all ages. Tact. Diplomacy. Solid computer skills. Team player.
Salary $47,848 – $62,408
