Summary of Position
Rochester Electronics is looking for a self-motivated individual to take the lead on the development of a database information architecture to support the management of product information. Working under the direction of the Archive Services Manager, the person in this positions will develop information systems to facilitate the management of data (part numbers, descriptions, characteristics) about semiconductor devices Rochester Electronics has the capability to manufacture.
The successful candidate will:
- Gather and analyze requirements to design a database information architecture for manufacturing product data.
- Create a thesaurus of cross reference information to manage data relationships (e.g. internal and external part numbers).
- Implement data integration strategies to support product data sharing across business systems/applications
- Develop and maintain a navigational taxonomy to support discoverability of manufacturing documentation
- Generate reports by creating database queries and/or scripts
- Integrate data from multiple systems to produce data sets for end users
- Collaborate with the Product Marketing team to supply and manage data to support product searching on the company web site
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Information Architecture/Informatics/Library and Information Science or similar field or experience with data analysis and manipulation.
Required Experience
- 1-3 years work experience with knowledge of data analysis and problem solving.
- Experience with:
- Requirements analysis and database architecture design
- Database architecture and data mining
- Experience creating taxonomy/thesauri/ontology in support of data/asset discoverability
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Creation of queries and reports using SQL, Crystal Reports, and SAP Business Objects
- Project Management experience a plus
