SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will provide information literacy instruction for undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of settings and formats. This involves creating and maintaining up-to-date instruction materials for print and online library resources, including online research guides (LibGuides). The Instruction & Electronic Access Librarian will also maintain access to and support interconnectivity of all online resources via a link resolver (EBSCO’s Full Text Finder). Other duties include providing research assistance during scheduled hours at the reference desk and via email.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide and establish library presence through instruction in a classroom setting and online
- Create and maintain online research guides (LibGuides) according to best practices and with faculty input
- Maintain the ENC Learning Commons website and Nease Library website through current web platform
- Participate in reference desk rotation for evenings and weekends
- Serve on network (OCLN) and college committees
- Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in library/information science from an ALA-accredited program
- At least 2 years of teaching experience at an academic library is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create library instruction materials in print and online
- Ability to work collaboratively with other librarians and faculty as well as independently
