Assistant Director, Beaman Memorial Public Library, West Boylston, MA

The Beaman Memorial Public Library is seeking a confident, creative, detail oriented, tech savvy Assistant Director with strong customer service and communication skills.

The Assistant Library Director works closely with the Library Director and is responsible for the daily supervision and on-going training of regular staff members and multiple volunteers; the selection, cataloging and classification of all adult materials; the management of various financial, statistical and acquisition records and databases; the maintenance and implementation of computer hardware and software. The Assistant Director is delegated managerial responsibilities in the Director’s temporary absence. The employee is required to perform all similar or related duties.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree; three to five (3-5) years related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Qualified candidates must possess comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of professional library work, the organization and management of library operations, library materials and current trends in library services. Must have excellent time management skills, strong attention to detail and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others.

Preferred: Supervisory experience, Evergreen experience.

32.5 hours/ week includes night and weekend hours.
