SENIOR SUPERVISOR:  TECHNICAL SERVICES SUPERVISOR

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Technology leader for the Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield’s public library; supervises the Technical Services Department responsible for acquisitions, cataloging, classification, and processing of all library materials; coordinates library’s automated operations; and supervises both full and part time staff. 

REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in library science; dynamic and self motivated; experience in cataloging and/or technical services in an automated library environment including knowledge of national content and descriptive standards (AACR2/RDA, MARC, and Dewey Classification). Light physical effort is required in performing the duties of this position under typical library conditions including intermittent standing, walking, bending and reaching, reading printed material, communicating orally and via normal telephone connections, and lifting light loads of up to twenty pounds from the floor to positions overhead.

HOURS AVAILABLE: This full‑time position working thirty‑five hours each week becomes available July 1, 2016.

SALARY: As a Senior Supervisor, this position is a grade level 11, with a salary range of $35,394 to $51,903 in fourteen steps, plus a generous benefit package.
