Public Services Associate, Northfield Mount Hermon School, Gill, MA

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks a dynamic self starter to provide access to library facilities, services, and information to facilitate academic excellence and personal growth. Responsibilities include overseeing and maintaining library circulation, stacks management, reservations, and interactions with patrons. The Public Services Specialist works closely with colleagues and will be responsible for hiring, training, scheduling and supervising 10-15 part time student aides. This position will be the point of contact for all  building issues, and communications on campus regarding library hours and maintenance needs.  

The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and familiarity with library systems, processes and professional ethics. Candidates must have the ability to process and hold confidential information and exercise independent judgement. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google applications, and other web-based software is desired. Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. 

Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents and embrace the opportunity to work with a diverse community in a boarding school environment.  

The schedule for this position aligns with the academic year (mid-August through mid-June; no work during summers or breaks in the school calendar).
