Assistant, Associate, or Full Time Faculty, Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas

Emporia State University‘s School of Library and Information Management (SLIM) is seeking a new tenure-track faculty member at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank to teach in its ALA-accredited MLS program. The position is for a nine-month contract with an option for summer teaching, and includes generous health and retirement benefits, and funding for professional development, conferences, and seminars. Screening will begin April 4, 2016 and continue until the position is filled.

The successful candidate will have a doctorate in library/information studies or a related discipline, or ABD with an anticipated summer 2016 graduation date, and recent teaching and/or research expertise in at least one of the following areas: archives studies, organization of information, or leadership and library administration. Preference will be given to applicants who can provide expertise and leadership in the archives studies concentration that offers Master of Library Science students the opportunity to learn basics of archives studies including archives philosophy and ethics, principles of archival organization and development, and techniques of preservation and storage. Other desired qualifications are experience teaching with a course management program, such as Canvas, and commitment to service.
