POSITION:
- Archivist/Librarian – Library
- Part-time MCCC unit position
- Start Date: Approximately May 2, 2016
COMPENSATION:
- Hourly Rate: $26.40 per hour
- Hours: 18.5 hours per week, non-benefited
- Funding Source: Trust
GENERAL SUMMARY:
In the archivist role, oversees the archives function according to standard practices. In the librarian role, provides reference services and information literacy instruction in conjunction with other professional librarians.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Carries out day-to-day archival practices (evaluates, selects, accessions, inventories, arranges, retrieves and ensures the long-term preservation of the college’s archives collection)
- Prepares reference aids in established archival formats.
- Provides reference support for students and faculty using print and online resources.
- Develops information literacy materials and teaches library classes/workshops.
- Participates in collection development responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school course work in archival management; archives experience; professional experience in reference and instruction; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work effectively with a diverse community.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Available to work Tuesdays and Thursdays (flexibility for the other days) with an 8 a.m. start time.
