Requirements
Required Education, Training, and Skills:
Job related-
- Working knowledge of upper-grade instructional design issues and research skills.
- Demonstrated ability to write concisely and effectively for digital media.
General-
- MLS from ALA-accredited library school or foreign equivalent. Evidence of potential for earning tenure. Promotion to full professor requires an awarded second master’s or doctoral degree.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks asynchronously in an academic environment.
- Flexibility and interpersonal abilities of a nature to work successfully with a wide variety of constituencies including students, university faculty, staff, and administration.
- Evidence of ability to work independently and collegially.
- Organizational, written, and oral-communication skills.
- Commitment to effective service for both internal and external clients.
Preferred Education, Training, and Skills:
Job related-
- Experience with user-interface design/assessment.
- Experience with graphic design and video editing software.
- Experience with Canvas or comparable learning management system (LMS) software.
General-
- Experience or commitment to teaching at the college level (online and/or face-to-face).
- Experience in academic public-service librarianship.
