Are you a creative and enthusiastic librarian who specializes in children’s services? The Jaffrey Public Library has a fantastic opportunity for a positive, passionate children’s librarian with fresh programming and outreach ideas.
JPL’s respected long-time children’s librarian is retiring. The library is building upon its solid past while moving toward the future, and is looking for someone to shape the department in new ways.

As part of our commitment to providing the best service possible, we are seeking a new team member who uses technology frequently and is comfortable learning new technology. In particular, the successful candidate will:
- have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint and the ability to use them to handle tasks such as creating flyers, bookmarks, signs, and other documents. Knowledge of Microsoft Publisher would be a plus.
- have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to use it to carry out tasks such as tracking budget expenses and analyzing statistics
- have at least basic knowledge of, and willingness to learn more about, library catalog software
- have at least basic knowledge of social media such as Facebook and can use such sites to publicize events and inform the public
- have knowledge of or the ability to learn about and update websites

The job is 35 hours per week, including one evening per week and regular weekend hours. Driving will be required for outreach and professional development.
