The Oak Bluffs Public Library on the island of Martha’s Vineyard seeks an experienced technology & reference librarian to join its energetic team as the Head of Adult and Technology Services.

The position employs excellent customer service when providingprofessional information services and user instruction. The position is responsible for ILL services and assists with the development, maintenance and processing of the adult collection. The position ensures that the library’s reference services meet the needs of our year-round and seasonal community, provides readers’ advisory, and trains patrons and staff on existing/emerging technologies.

The ideal candidate must excel at collection development, user instruction, teaching computer skills and troubleshooting technology issues. Candidates need a thorough knowledge of current and emerging library technologies in order to develop the library’s technology plan and must have relevant experience with library management principles, practices, and procedures. 

Qualifications: A candidate for this position should have a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science and at least three years of experience in a public library, or relevant combination of education and experience.

This is a full-time Union position with salary range from $ 49,965- $61,450, plus a comprehensive benefits package, work hours include Saturdays and evenings.
