Job Description:
Provide professional reference/information literacy instruction to Massasoit Community College students, faculty, staff, and community users; perform specialized professional work involving library operations, resource development, and access; collaborate with faculty and related student support units; work effectively with culturally diverse library users and adult learners; other professional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Library Science, Library & Information Science, or closely related field required. Three years’ experience, education and/or training that includes reference services, classroom instruction, library information systems, library operations. Community College library experience preferred. Knowledge of issues and trends in academic libraries. Supervisory experience. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, and proficiency in written expression. Technology skills required. Grant writing and newsletter publication experience a plus.
Additional Information
Worksite: Brockton (may require minimum amount of time at other Massasoit instructional campuses/sites)
Shift: 37 ½ hrs. /week: 4 days 8 am – 4:30 pm, 1 evening 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Supervisor: Director of Libraries
Term of Appointment: Full-time, tenure track, 12 month MCC Unit Professional position. Terms governed by MCCC/MTA Agreement
Salary: $52,564 – $60,000 Commensurate with education and experience in conjunction with MCC classification – Full Time State Funded with Benefits
