Graduate Librarian, Stratford University, Fall’s Church, VA

The library at Stratford University’s Falls Church campus is looking for a Graduate Librarian. This position will be working very closely with Stratford’s new doctoral programs in Business and Information Technology, as well as supporting our master’s programs.
Functions:
- 40%: Library-related tasks
- The Graduate Librarian will be expected to develop and follow through with a variety of independent and collaborative tasks that include, but are not limited to, instructional design, reference service, outreach, and marketing
- Serves as embedded librarian for both doctoral- and master’s-level students
- 30%: Library Instruction
- Assist students and faculty in the use of the library collection, research materials, technology, and area resources
- Identify and provide access to the resources needed to support Stratford’s academic programs
- Instruct students on a formal and informal basis in skills related to identifying and interpreting research information and communicating the content of research material in written and visual presentations
- 10%: Collection Development:
- Assist the Librarian in continually developing, evaluating, and maintaining the library collection to meet the needs of the students and faculty
- 10%: Maintenance and Administrative Tasks
- Perform library maintenance and administrative tasks such as copy and original cataloging, placing work orders for library technology, and serving as a liaison between academic departments and the library
- 5%: Textbooks
- Act as a liaison between the campus community and textbook coordinator and support students and faculty in troubleshooting issues
- 5%: Other duties as assigned
- Recommend changes and improvements in processes
Stratford University’s Falls Church campus is a small private college with a focus on career-oriented majors, like nursing and business administration.
