ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/YOUTH SERVICES LIBRARIAN, Newbury NH Public Library.
Full-time position with benefits, to assist director in all aspects of library operations.
Primary responsibilities will include tots through pre-school story hour, vacation and after-school youth programs, and a general expansion of programming and services to youth and their families.
Newbury’s population of 2,100 nearly doubles in the summer, when seasonal residents bring a lively mix to the library. Renovated and expanded in 1999, the library has a collection of over 17,000 items and an annual circulation over 24,000. Staff include a full-time director and part-time reference librarian. Qualifications: MLS preferred. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of current library practices and technology and enthusiasm to work with young people. Training or experience working with children required.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and training.
