Young Adult Services Librarian, West Springfield, MA

The Town of West Springfield seeks a dynamic, innovative and technology savvy team player with strong public service commitment.  Working under the general supervision of the Library Director, this new position of Young Adult Librarian will provide library service and programming for and with young adults (typically ages 12-18), work the adult reference desk as assigned, create reader’s advisory lists, develop community activities and promote/publicize the library’s young adult services in schools and the community.  A 20 hour work week including three evenings per week and every Saturday is required.  A MLS from an accredited ALA library school is preferred.  Prior demonstrated knowledge of public library operations plus two years of experience is required.
