Job: Circulation Technician

Full/Part Time: Part Time

Duties/Description: The Middleborough Public Library seeks a motivated, friendly and energetic individual for the part-time position of Circulation Technician for the library. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, flexible and able to deal well with people. Duties to include a full range of circulation desk functions including check-in/check-out, maintenance of patron’s records, issuance of library cards, organization of books and materials, basic technology troubleshooting, and other duties as assigned. This will be a part-time position up to 18 hours per week. Candidate must be able to work at least one night and some weekends.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent strongly preferred. Library experience, customer service, technology experience, and experience with automated library systems highly desirable.

Applicants must possess excellent customer service skills. Capable of working with library staff and the general public in a courteous and tactful manner, interest and ability to develop technology skills, communication skills (both written and verbal), and attention to detail are also required.

Must be able to reach overhead, bend down to floor-level shelves, and occasionally lift/move materials weighing up to 30 pounds.

Salary: $14.68 – $21.56 in 9 steps
