Program Director, Massachusetts Center for the Book, Boston, MA

Massachusetts Center for the Book is hiring a half-time program director to run the core programs of our organization and grow new initiatives in the coming several years.

Working closely with the Executive Director, and with the support of a quarter-time graduate student assistant as well as a part-time Communications Associate, the Program Director will administer the annual Massachusetts Book Awards, the annual student writing-reading promotion program, Letters About Literature,and will manage and grow new initiatives in literary place-making, family literacy, and national/regional reading promotion. 

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned program coordinator with grant management experience.  S/he will believe in both the power of books and reading to take us places and in the transformative potential of cultural enrichment emerging from quality creative programming in Massachusetts public libraries.  

The position is based in Boston, in our offices at 14 Beacon St. Some in-state travel.  Potential for DC travel as well.

Salary $25,000
