Intern: Technical Services, Ryerson & Burnham Libraries, Art Institute Chicago, Chicago, IL

Internships are available in various units of the Libraries. Projects can be designed to fit practicum or internship requirements for MLS/library science and other academic or professional programs providing field experience. Upper-level undergraduates, graduate students, or students in professional programs interested in pursuing careers in libraries, visual resource collections, or archival collections are encouraged to apply for internships. Projects completed during an internship will vary depending on the department within the Libraries the intern is placed.

Internship Opportunities

The intern will be working with a librarian in the relevant area, design and complete a special project in acquisitions, cataloging, or serials.

Qualifications 

We are willing to work with upper-level undergraduates, graduate students, or students in professional programs. Characteristics of this intern should include: commitment to excellence, good communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of art or architecture history, good organizational skills, and previous library experience.

We are looking for interns interested in semester long internships (winter/spring 2016). This is a non-compensated/unpaid internship. The internship qualifies for a college credit program and the duration can be flexible in order to meet program requirements. This is a part-time internship where it is expected that the intern work, at least, one full day a week.
