Emerging Technologies Librarian, Walker Memorial Library, Westbrook, ME

The City of Westbrook is seeking an experienced, technology-oriented professional to contribute towards the fulfillment of the mission of Walker Memorial Library through the coordination of information technology with library operations and services, including the overall integration of technology into department programming. The Emerging Technology Librarian will plan, develop, maintain and enhance the library’s new Makerspace and STEAM programming initiative; and is responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of technology functions, resources, and equipment to meet the needs of library users and staff. Remains up-to-date on current and emerging technologies and uses ingenuity and creativity to integrate new technology into department programming. Establishes and solidifies customer relationships by providing outstanding customer service to the public.
Required Education, Training, and Experience: Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Technology or related field, and/or equivalent professional experience; minimum of 1 year supervisory experience preferred; experience with technology instruction, web design and Makerspace programming preferred; must possess well developed communication, interpersonal, collaboration, problem-solving and technology skills; must be highly focused on establishing a welcoming and customer service oriented environment.
This Full Time opportunity offers a competitive wage ($18.92/hr – $24.86/hr DOE&Q) and generous benefits package that includes: Health & Dental Insurance; Paid Vacation, Sick, & Holiday Time; and Retirement Benefits. This is a Teamster Local Union No 340 General Unit position.
