Job Description
Assist in meeting the research and curricular needs of the University by working closely with the Head of Collection Development to develop a robust collection of scholarly resources in all formats. Identify useful electronic resources; conduct tests and trials; negotiate licenses and contracts, and monitor expenditures. Supervise acquisitions staff, oversee the library materials acquisitions process for the main library and its branches. Monitor electronic resource use, and review effectiveness for the future. Act as chief interpreter and enforcement official for license agreements.
Required Skills
B.A./B.S., Masters in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school required. Working knowledge of budget monitoring and reporting in an integrated library system (Ex Libris Alma preferred), and an institutional enterprise system (SAP preferred). Three to five years of experience managing, implementing, or integrating acquisitions processes. Three to five years professional experience, preferably in an academic library.
