Job Description:

Part-time XML encoders needed for online historic papers project: The Mary Baker Eddy Papers at The Mary Baker Eddy Library. Encoder will apply XML markup according to defined schema to letters and other manuscripts.

Required: experience (either coursework or professional) encoding in XML according to the standards of the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI); familiarity with electronic document management systems, schema-based XML editor (oXygen preferred), and document and image transform processes; personal computer with reliable internet access.

Desired: experience working with nineteenth-century documents.
