The Department of Interdisciplinary Professions in the College of Education is seeking a full-time, fixed-term faculty member during the current and upcoming academic year in the area of Library Science, which has three master’s degree pathways. This individual will teach four graduate courses each term, and serve in additional, value-added capacity to the department through recruitment and retention initiatives, curriculum development and improvement, and accreditation/assessment efforts.
East Carolina University, the third largest university in the UNC system, is located in North Carolina’s coastal plain midway between Raleigh and the coast. An institution of over 26,000 students, ECU is a research-intensive university which offers more than 104 bachelor’s degree programs, 73 master’s degree programs, 4 intermediate degree programs, 17 doctoral programs, and 2 first professional degree programs (MD, DDS). This position requires Masters in Library Science and experience teaching courses at the graduate level. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire. Candidates with doctoral degrees, school licensure, and/or public library certification are preferred.
