East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) currently seeks applicants for the Dean of the Library and University Collections. The Dean is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University Library and University Collections, serves as a member of the Provost’s Council and reports to the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. The Dean guides the development and implementation of a shared vision of the Library in support of the curriculum and the University’s mission in teaching, scholarship, service and campus/community relations. The Dean will also be instrumental in leading the University initiative to transform the library to a library of the future with an increased emphasis on collaborative spaces for students and faculty, enhanced with technology for research-based projects.

MLS and Doctoral degree in an academic discipline, eight years or more of progressively responsible experience in an academic library environment; demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets; a record of scholarly and professional achievement commensurate with an appointment as a University Librarian; effective organizational and interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication skills.
