Library Assistant, Public Service, Becker College, Worcester, MA

Reporting to the Director of the Libraries, this 25 hour a week, nine month position supports the public service functions primarily at Ruska Library on the Worcester campus by assisting students and faculty with library resources, communicating tasks to work study student employees, and other duties as assigned. Regular hours will be Monday through Friday 7:30 am – 12:30 pm, but flexibility is a must depending on when coverage is needed. Occasional weekend days are required, as well as travel to both college campuses and cross-training in Swan Library on the Leicester campus. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

A bachelor’s degree and experience in a library setting preferred, public or customer service experience desirable,  experience in a higher education or school environment a plus.  Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, decision-making and information processing skills, the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, and a willingness to work extra hours during peak times are required.  Openness to a dynamic and changing work environment is essential. 

Starting salary: $15 per hour
