School Archivist, Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, Cambridge, MA

Buckingham Browne & Nichols School invites applications for the position of School Archivist. Reporting to the Assistant Head of School for External Affairs, the successful candidate will manage and further develop the school’s archives of 19th to 21st century materials. Specific tasks will include arranging and describing paper materials in accordance with professional standards, working with faculty, staff, and alumni/ae to grow collections, digitizing and annotating 20th century photographs, and answering some reference inquiries.

15 hours/week; salary commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of graduate-level coursework in archival theory and best practices
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
  • Prior experience processing archival collections
