Library Teacher (Part-time), Ashland Middle School, Ashland, MA

Ashland Middle School is looking for a library teacher (or student currently doing MLS coursework) to fill a .5 position. Role includes scheduled information literacy/research skills instruction to students in grades 6-8 and managing the library. Ashland recently committed to bringing back librarians in the elementary and MS after a number of years without. Position may grow to FT in future when funding is secured.  

Looking for someone who can pick up the reins and take the program into the future, giving kids the skills they need to be successful learners, and to collaborate with staff to support research assignments.  

Days would be Wednesday (half day) and Thursday-Friday. This might work great for someone who needs part-time hours or is taking courses in the evening. Due to difficulty in filling this part-time position, a certification-track student would be considered and a waiver would be sought with the DESE.  

Looking to hire immediately for the beginning of the school year August 31.
