Duties:
- Responsible for the library’s book acquisitions by placing orders, receiving material, and readying invoices for the library’s book collection; maintains the library’s print periodicals collection; assist with serials processing. The Sr. Library Technical Services Coordinator helps provide accurate online access to the library’s print collection for the University.
- Orders, receives, prepares invoices, and pays for new books.
- Receives and processes print periodicals; maintains check-in records and associated files; identifies and claims missing issues and/or orders replacement copies; shelves and withdraws periodicals as well as prepares items for the bindery.
- Performs serials maintenance and physical processing of library material; supervises student assistants in serials maintenance and physical processing of library material.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree plus at least one year experience working in a library.
- Considerable attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.
- Ability to work and make decisions independently and as a team member while displaying excellent communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with library and university staff.
- Must be experienced with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with an ILS is highly desirable. Experience working in an academic library preferred.
