Responsibilities: The Youth Services Manager is responsible for providing excellent customer service by providing collaborative leadership in administering, planning, implementing and evaluating system wide activities and outreach for children and young adults in an efficient and effective manner. Directs and supervises staff, writes grants and proposals,serves as a liaison to community agencies serving youth.
Qualifications:
- Master’s of Library Science from a school accredited by the American Library Association.
- 3 plus years of experience in management or supervisory work.
- 5 plus years of experience in related youth services.
- Prior successful planning, implementation and coordination of innovative programs for a multi-location library system; effectively supervise and motivate subordinate staff, demonstrated history of building strong community partnerships, as well as developing and maintaining positive relationships with library customers, vendors, staff and management required; and successful implementation of outreach efforts with community organizations, youth agencies, and schools required. Must apply for and maintain Indiana Librarian Certification, earning 75 LEUs(Library Education Units) within five years
Prior grant writing preferred. Experience managing a service line budget preferred.
