Assistant Librarian Teen Services, Wilmington Memorial Library, Wilmington, MA

DUTIES: The Wilmington Memorial Library is seeking a creative and energetic individual who enjoys working with teens to fill an opening for a full-time Assistant Librarian Teen Services position. Responsibilities include selecting and maintaining the teen collection, developing innovative programming and outreach to teens generally sixth grade through high school; also may plan and present programs for children fifth grade and younger.  Working independently under the general supervision of the Children’s Librarian, is part of the Youth Services team. Provides reference, reader’s advisory and desk coverage in the Children’s Room. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in a team oriented friendly environment open to innovation. 

Schedule is 35 hours per week with one evening per week and every third Saturday from September through June. Additional evenings and Saturdays may be required to meet programming needs. Complete job description available on Town of Wilmington web site.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of library experience or a combination of relevant education and experience. Essential qualifications include experience in planning and presenting programs for teens, knowledge of young adult literature and strong technology skills. In addition the successful candidate will be a collaborative team player with excellent customer service skills.

SALARY:  $41,527-$52,551, All municipal benefits.
