Volunteer internships are available with flexible hours in a range of departments. The program also includes Q&A sessions with staff and fellow interns that might focus on behind-the-scenes operations, current exhibitions and how to get a job.
Digital Asset Management Intern
Join the Exhibitions Research and Publishing team and assist the Digital Asset Manager on initiatives to bring PEM’s database of collections images to the public. We are entering an exciting new era of open access in the museum world, and curating the digital collections is a high priority. The DAM intern will help PEM manage our digital collections with responsibilities such as: vetting image quality, inputting metadata, image research, editing tombstone and credit line information, and creating contact sheets. Additional projects may include assisting on digital asset management for PEM publications and exhibitions.
Internship Qualifications: Familiarity with Lightroom 5, FTP clients such as Hightail, MS Office, web research, standard Windows file systems, and stock photo sites. The DAM intern should have knowledge of basic copyright laws, and a passion for good data management. They should do accurate, reliable work with impeccable organization. Must be able to communicate professionally and clearly with rightsholders, vendors, and PEM staff across many different departments.
